Annapurna range located on the western part of Nepal, it includes Hiunchuli, Annapurna South, Fang, Annapurna, Ganagapurna, Annapurna 3 and Machhapuchhare, are arranged almost precisely in a circle about 10 miles in diameter with a deep glacier-covered amphitheater at the center. From this glacier basin, known as the Annapurna Sanctuary / annapurna base camp the Modi Khola knifes its way south in a narrow gorge fully 12,000 ft. deep. Further south, the gorge opens up into a wide and fertile valley which is mainly inhibitants by Gurungs.
In spite of the great heights of the surrounding peaks and ice walls, the valley floor between 12,000 and 14,000 ft. can provide comfortable camping spots in good weather.
The Annapurna Himal is a vast massif with several peaks above 7000m. Part of the range forms a natural amphitheatre known as the Annapurna Sanctuary/ Annapurna base camp, ringed by such giants as Annapurna 1, Glacier Dome, Gangapurna, Fang and Machhapuchhare.

This tour offers exciting views in all directions. In front lies the glorious Mt.Annapurna, macchapucchre and Hiunchuli, and below a magnificent view of more than 30 species of Rhododendrons bloomiing in different hues. A ring comprised of Nepal's 11 major peaks surrounds the high glacial basin lying north of Pokhara. A quite an calm sensation is what many people say they derive here at this place, and it is believed by the locals that it is due to the divine presence of Hindu Goddesses Annapurna and Gangapurna.
